The Tudor Rose is one of the oldest buildings left in dunston, formally known as the the Ancor Inn, back then it was mostly used by the sailors on the tyne. Due to its location at the entrance to the Dunston staithes which is a listed structre in the tyne, and was used for the loading and unloading of the ships from around the world, Which is where our resident ghost is said to have originated, Known locally as "Old George",an old sailor ? or fisherman who has been the topic of many a tale over a pint or two.
